NOTIFICATION

            The ongoing admission round seat selection process for Medical, Dental and Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy courses was suspended on 15-07-2004. The Second Round and Casual Vacancy Round for Medical, Dental and Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy courses will be held on the dates indicated below. During this round, action will be taken to re-allot the seats with regard to all the candidates including the candidates who have been counselled and allotted with seats from 12-07-2004 to 15-07-2004. In other words, all the candidates having medical ranks from first to last rank should attend the Second Round and Casual Vacancy Round for Medical, Dental, Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy seat selection process invariably, since the seats allotted to them from 12-07-2004 to
15-07-2004 and 30th & 31st of July, 2004 will be modified in accordance with the merit and option of candidates. This will include Thirty candidates who had selected seats in St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore and whose seats are deemed to have been cancelled in view of Hon’ble Supreme Court’s order dated 30-07-2004, there by necessitating fresh counseling. During this round, the seats newly added
by the MCI will also be offered for selection. The Medical, Dental, Indian System of Medicine & Homoeopathy and Engineering seats selected by Physically Disabled, NCC and Sports Special category candidates will remain unaltered. The new schedule for seat selection is as follows:

THERE WILL BE NO SEAT SELECTION PROCESS FOR NON-KARNATAKA CANDIDATES
FROM THE CET CELL FOR THE YEAR 2004-05.

 

All candidates will be eligible for participating in the Engineering Admission round, as per their Engineering ranks. The candidates, whose original documents are already verified, should bring original documents / photocopy of their original documents along with the acknowledgement card (Green card), issued by the CET Cell. The candidates, who have already paid the fees at the CET Cell, should invariably bring the original bank challen. The candidates, who have already reported to the colleges, need not bring the Admission orders issued by the CET Cell, for the reason that the admissions made earlier do not hold good. All candidates who select seats (except SC/ST category candidates) should pay the prescribed fee amount hosted on the CET website http://kar.nic.in/cet in the form of a demand
draft drawn in favour of the “Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore. The fee amount already paid by the candidates will be adjusted, upon selection of a seat afresh. All candidates who have selected the Medical, Dental, I. S. M. & Homoeopathy, Engineering, Technology and Architecture seats and those who have not selected any seat so far and all candidates who have reported / who have not reported to the colleges, will be eligible for participating in the Engineering Casual Vacancy round,
as per their Engineering ranks.

 

N.B.: No individual intimation will be sent to the candidates regarding date and time of this new seat selection process schedule.

I N S T R U C T I O N S

1.             The Medical, Dental, I. S. M. & Homoeopathy and Engineering seats selected by Physically disabled, NCC and Sports Special Categories will remain unaltered. There will be no Casual vacancy round for these Special categories.

2.             The Medical, Dental, I. S. M. & Homoeopathy seats selected by all the candidates in the Admission round held from 12-07-2004 to 15-07-2004 and the seats that were subsequently re-allotted on 30th & 31st of July, 2004, shall stand modified. Hence, all the Karnataka medical rank holders from first to last rank should invariably attend the Second Round and Casual Vacancy Round of Medical, Dental and I. S. M. & Homoeopathy courses, on the dates indicated in the notification of this office dated 04-08-2004. It is further clarified that the seats allotted earlier will not hold good.

3.             The Admission round for Engineering & Technology seats will be held in the first instance from 07-08-2004 to 21-08-2004, for all eligible Karnataka Engineering Rank holders from 1 to 25,000. Thereafter, the Second Round and Casual Vacancy Round for Medical, Dental, I. S. M. & Homoeopathy seats will be held from 23-08-2004 to 27-08-2004, where the Karnataka medical rank holders from first to last rank, including the candidates who have been counselled and allotted with seats from 12-07-2004 to 15-07-2004, will be required to attend the process invariably. During this round, the newly added seats will also be offered for selection. The Admission round for Engineering & Technology seats for Karnataka Engineering Rank holders from 25,001 to last rank will be held from 31-08-2004 to 10-09-2004, as per the notification of this office dated 04-08-2004. The Architecture seat selection will be held on 11-09-2004.

4.             The seats that remain un-allotted after the completion of the Second Round and Casual Vacancy Round for Medical, Dental, I. S. M. & Homoeopathy courses will remain unfilled and they will not be offered for further seat selection. 

5.             The candidates, whose original documents are already verified, should bring original / photocopy of their original documents along with the acknowledgement card (Green card), issued by the CET Cell. The candidates, who have already paid the fees at the CET Cell, should invariably bring the original bank challen. The candidates, who have already reported to the colleges, need not bring the Admission orders issued by the CET Cell, for the reason that the admissions made earlier do not hold good.

6.             All candidates who select seats (except SC / ST category candidates) should pay the prescribed fee amount hosted on the CET website http://kar.nic.in/cet in the form of a demand draft drawn in favour of the “Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore. The fee amount already paid by the candidates will be adjusted, upon selection of a seat afresh. Excess, if any, will be refunded to the candidate in the form of Account payee cheque, on the same day. (The candidates can bring any number of demand drafts for different denominations, corresponding to the fee amount.)

7.             The candidates who select seats should report to the respective colleges, well within the last date prescribed in the admission orders.

8.             All candidates who have selected the Medical, Dental, I. S. M. & Homoeopathy, Engineering, Technology and Architecture seats and those who have not selected any seat so far and all candidates who have reported / who have not reported to the colleges, will be eligible for participating in the Engineering Casual Vacancy round, as per their Engineering ranks. If the candidates select an Engineering seat in the Casual Vacancy round, then the seat selected by them in the earlier rounds will be cancelled automatically and the fee paid by them will be adjusted for the Engineering seat.

9.             All candidates who have selected seats up to 31-07-2004 will get refund of full amount
paid by them if they opt for cancellation of seat OR the amount will be adjusted upon selection of a fresh seat.

10.         The candidates who select seats from 07-08-2004 onwards and who wish to cancel the same before the commencement of the Engineering Casual Vacancy round, will get a refund of 80% of the amount paid by them as fees. (In the form of Account payee cheque in the candidate’s name.) The candidates who cancel the seats after the commencement / completion of the Engineering Casual Vacancy round, will not be entitled for refund of fees.

 

NOTE :   There will be no seat selection process for non-Karnataka candidates from the CET Cell for the year 2004-05. However, they are requested to approach the private professional college managements, who have been informed to fill the management quota of seats, based on the merit list prepared either by the CET Cell or COMED-K, as the case may be. The inconvenience caused to non-Karnataka candidates is deeply regretted.
